Dolly Day at Chesnee Elementary School

September has been a busy month at Chesnee Elementary School! To promote the national month of attendance, we kicked off our first-ever Attendance Spirit Week. We wanted our students and parents to know the importance of being at school every day and ready to learn. Our students and staff embraced the week and helped reinforce the message that every day at school matters!

We also welcomed grandparents and special family members to CES for Goodies with Grands and the Fall Scholastic Book Fair. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to share a special morning with the people who mean so much to them. The smiles and memories made this event truly special and we are always excited to find ways to encourage our students to become lifelong readers!

We wrapped up the month with our Fall Open House and a celebration of Dolly Parton on 9-25! Students and teachers welcomed families into our classrooms to see the wonderful learning taking place at CES. Our third graders also treated families to an incredible performance! Their hard work, confidence, and enthusiasm were truly something to celebrate. On September 25th, in true Dolly Parton style, CES embraced her inspiring message of “Dream More, Learn More, Read More.” and students and staff dressed up to honor her legacy. We entered the building to halls filled with Dolly Parton’s music and at 9:25am, our entire school stopped to read to support her commitment to children and literacy. Dolly’s joyful outlook on life will always serve as an inspiration to all!
